Our multidisciplinary approach to rehabilitation
Physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, psychology, hydrotherapy and neuromodulation, planned by one team as a single intensive rehabilitation programme for Irish patients.
No referral or paperwork needed for the first call.
How our multidisciplinary team works together
At Evexia Plus, your programme is planned by a physician in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, who sets your goals with you and reviews them every week. A multidisciplinary team then delivers at least 3 hours of therapy a day, drawing on the services below. Most people work with several of them at once, in a mix chosen for their goals, and the therapists share one plan so each therapy supports the others. Every member of our staff communicates in English, and the whole inpatient programme is reimbursable by the HSE.

What is neurorehabilitation?
Neurorehabilitation, or neurological rehabilitation, is therapy for people whose brain, spinal cord or nerves have been affected by an injury or illness, such as a stroke, a brain injury or multiple sclerosis. A team of physicians, nurses and therapists works with you on movement, daily tasks, communication, memory and mood, towards goals you set together.
What does an inpatient rehabilitation programme involve?
You stay in the hospital and follow a daily timetable, with at least 3 hours of therapy a day planned by your rehabilitation physician. Doctors and nurses look after your health day and night, and you have time to rest between sessions. The team reviews your goals with you every week and prepares your discharge report for your doctors at home.
What is intensive rehabilitation?
Intensive rehabilitation means a lot of therapy in a focused period. At Evexia Plus, that means at least 3 hours of therapy a day across several services, with your goals reviewed every week. It is planned around your energy, so the hours are spread through the day.
What does a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team do?
It brings the different professions together around one plan: a physician in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists and psychologists. They share your goals, talk to each other about your progress and adjust the plan together, so each therapy supports the others.
Do I need a referral?
No referral is needed to call us. For HSE reimbursement, the steps and documents are set out on our How it works page, and we help you with each one. Our physician also reviews your medical records before you travel, to confirm the programme suits you.
Can I choose which therapies I have?
Your physician recommends the mix after reviewing your records and assessing you, and agrees it with you. If you have a particular therapy in mind, such as hydrotherapy or neuromodulation, tell us on the first call, and the physician will explain whether it suits you.
